Are number plate bulbs covered by the bulb check?

Bought some Canbus HID's and Canbus LED's i had from my e46 for the headlights but i have some 39mm Festoon LEDs which aren't canbus, just wondering if i can use them in the registration plate bulbs or will it throw up an error on the dash? i have the full MID on the dash with the bulb out warning.

Yes it will, my B6 1.8T QS numberplate light bulb out warning came on when i had been messing around with the boot release assembly when i changed the micro-switch. I had to remove and re-assemble the bulb holders and all been well since.
