I'm changing some of my cabin plastics including my centre console and have hit a problem with the handbrake cover. It looks like the leather grip needs to come off in order to take the plastic cover off but I can't woprk out if it's possible. can anyone help?

yes u can
you need to slide a long thin screwdriver down it to relese a catch
do a google search im sure theres a guide on a4 mods

ahhhh what part do u mean ?
the handle cover or the back part plastic cover ?

that bit worked well enough and I took pics. unfortunately the driver's seat has lost power fully back so I can't even drive it like that. see the project thread here
I'll add pics of the handbrake cover removal there too

It's a right ****** faff to get it off. I took the handle bit and the gaiter. Getting it back on (properly) is even more fun!
I agree mate. I haven't put anything back on yet as I'm waiting for a few bits to come through that weren't in with the big stuff. I'm currently sporting a black & grey centre console theme. very nice :)
