Hi All
Hope someone can help with this one.
Audi A4 Cabriolet 2003 Diesel 2.5 TDi V6
I have a problem when driving the car normal in the sense that when I take my foot off the pedal the rev counter drops to tickover.
Not all the time but when it starts to do it it seems to carry on for a long time.
I have fault codes as follows.
01315
18055
18265
18033
They all seem to relate to the following.
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON or Active
Engine control unit / Transmission.
Any Ideas on a fix or more info would be a great help.
Thank You
Katy

Hi All

Update on my 2003 A4 Cabriolet 2.5 TDi V6
Well slung it into the specialists at Audi. Tonbridge Kent Uk
They took car for a spin with me and as normal for the start wouldn't do it. TYPICAL
However with time ticking on the money pot and frustration the Audi Tech guy said lets do it again.....So we gave her some boot (That's the Car) and down the hill we came and it did it....Did what you may say well it went into free wheel in the gearbox but was still in gear.
The Audi tech said he had never in all the time driven a car that did that. I said well my relation says at least it saves on Fuel...He laughed
Anyway swapped places and he drove it and tried several things with the multitronic but still kept doing it and I told him it would not reset until after about 3 hours cooling down.
YES it is heat related. It would seem that the ecu in the gearbox plays up when it gets very hot.hence all the codes as it stops communicating with everything or whatever it does.
So New Ecu needed....Well we hope this fixes it. will update you all.

Sure it doesn't just need an gearbox oil change? When the oil gets warm it thins and can cause problems especially on the cvt's. Very surprised the Audi technician didn't mention this. I would personally get the oil changed 1st simply as you should do it now anyway and if it solves the problem then it's a darn sight cheaper!

i had a range rover that had dodgy gear changes etc when hot went on for few months then googled it to find common failure with the oil and filter in the gearbox replaced and it worked perfectly from then on...... does it have any leaks does it have any oil in the gearbox ??
