bought a set of aero arms to go on my 1.9tdi avant but am having trouble removing the old ones.have soaked them in penetrating oil for a week and also tried a small pullers with no success,any ideas anyone?

I just lift the wipers up.
Remove the nut but not all the way. you want it free enough for the arm to come off and not to smack you in the face.
then hold the base of the wiper arm near the hinge area and give it a wiggle in all direction and lift.
It will eventually remove it self.
Some can be a right *****

Loosen nuts so that they are flush with the bolt, pull up on the wiper arm while you hit the nut with a hammer and it will pop off.

Try the more substantial ebay wiper pullers. Best tenner I've spent, and mine were solid. There's no way I could have removed them without trashing the palstic surround and/or screen otherwise.

I've been looking to do this change for a while now and finally located a set off a 2004 B6 for £72.
I've not bought them yet, as wanted to see if this was a good price or not?

I think they're about £100 with blades, so thats not a bad price. You could wait forever for that possible ebay bargain which never comes! That's certainly not an OTT price.
