Suspiciously high tyre pressure?

Morning all,

My rear right tyre looked a bit under inflated at the weekend and I've just gone to pump it up as Chavsda. I have 18" late B6/B7 S Lines. The little tyre sticker in my car doesn't have anything for 18" tyres (I suppose because it's an 03) so I asked my friend (B7 3.0 V6 TDI) to look at his sticker and tell me as he has the same wheels as me. He e-mailed me the picture and the pressure is meant to be 41psi all-round for average loading... this seems very high to me?

Anyone else running this pressure? Or have you used a lower pressure?

36psi in my 235/40 x 18's.

Sorry, I didn't say. Mine are 235/40/18 too. Have you ran them on 41psi before, or just always used 36psi?

My heavier S4 says 39 for normal load, 41 or 42 for full load.

Hmmm... do you reckon I should let them down a bit - say 36, same as James'? THough he has a V6 TDI and I have a 1.9.

i have 36 in mine all be it they are 235/45/17s 1.9tdi the book say 38 fully loaded so 36 seems a good alround

I've always had 36 in mine, they seem to wear fairly equally... quattro issues aside.

Mine has just been in for the 4-wheel tracking and cambers to be set, the guy did however comment that i should be running 36psi rather than the 34psi i was running,i'm also on 235/45/17

Think I may lower mine then to something like 36psi as I'm sure 41 is too high - I suppose my friend's car may need 41 as it's got a big heavy V6 under the bonnet!

Mine fitted with 235/40/18 I would'nt have thought there would be that much difference, I would run them at 39 psi

36 all round for me 225/40/18's.
40 when loaded.
