Avant boot lock problem

Bought the car with this problem,problems with my boot as the driver's display said the boot lid was open when it was closed, so unplugged the sensor, got rid of that for the time been, but i can only open it using the rod to the lock with the panel off, the lock doesnt even turn to open it also central locking wont open it.

and after searching

Seems like its a common problem, either micro switch or lock, and the rear washer leaks to cause this, Question is as this is all old info now' What am i best replacing first to solve this, full new boot lock or microswitch, any info on the costs or can i get from a breakers

boot lock the micro switch is in the lock
also if you have water in there check the pipework

im going to check the pipe work out tomorow, any pointers to the micro switch, is it where the plug plugs in, is that it ?

im pretty sure the micro switch is built in to the lock

Had to change mine recently due to the same issue. Eventually boot wouldnt close properly either and would bounce back open when trying to close it. I think it was about £26 for a complete lock assembly which does include the sensor. Easy enough to change, the trim can be a bit akward to refit by yourself but a 2nd pair of hands makes it much easier.

From TPS, I may be a few pounds out on the price though as I've bought quite a bit recently so can't remember exact figure but they are cheaper than the main dealers.
