2.0 Fsi sounding like a diesel

Hey Guys,

My father has an a4 2.0fsi which he says sometimes sounds like a diesel on start up and that noise seems to get worse when he backs up his drive, he has had a service done on it a little while back so we just dont know whats up with it

Seized alternator clutc pulley? Mine used to make a hell of a racket, especially when reversing with lock on for some reason.

It sounds daft, but they make any engine sound and run terribly. An alternator is a very high torque bit of kit.
