    torque setting needed front hub nut

    anyone know what the torque setting is for a 2004 audi a4 1.8t cabriolet quattro front hub nut is please

    According to the good old haynes manual depends if your hub nut is 14mm thread or 16mm thread.

    M14 stage 1 115 NM (85 lbf/ft) then stage 2 angle tighten a furthur 180 degrees.

    M16 stage 1 200 NM (148 lbf/ft) then stage 2 angle tighten a furthur 180 degrees.

    These are when using a new stretch bolt, if using an old bolt you will find it hard to achieve these settings as the bolt will already be stretched. I tend to do them nice and tight using a breaker bar if i re-use the old bolt, although i strongly recommend using a new one.

    M14 115NM

    M16 200NM

    Plus half a turn when the wheels are back on.

    Excuse me for acting dumb a hub nut? are you talking about the bolts that hold the wheel to the axle?

    It's the bolt in the centre of the hub on the end of the drive shaft.
