can handbrake adjustor be reset ???

I had both handbrake cables replaced but they cant be reconnected to the handbrake because the handbrake has self-adjusted too far, and mechanic tells me i need to get a new handbrake lever now?

Is there no way of resetting the old handbrake? I would have thought there was??

Does anybody know how to or will I be able to get a secondhand handbrake lever to fix problem??

i cant see that being true at all. the only way i now how to reset the handbrake is to wind the pistons back in on the pads not sure if that helps<BR><BR>just read in the haynes manule and there is a release button on the hand brake its self you have to take the center consal aprt looks like you need 2 of you to do it thought
