Glove box cd changer + RNS-E, do they need pairing via vagcom?

Hi,

Yesterday I retro fitted an RNS-E unit in favour of my old RNS-D. All is well but when I hook up my glove box cd changer I can't seem to play any cd's. The RNS-E can see a cd changer is connected and tells me how many cd's are loaded, but for some reason it's not allowing me to select any cd's from 1-6 and actually play them, it just keeps jumping back to 'cd 7' navigation DVD.

So do I have to get the RNS-E coded to recognise that particular cd changer? The unit was removed from an rs4 which I think had a genuine audi glove box iPod dock connected to it, so could that be the problem?
