    A4 1.9dti pd

    Hi guys,

Can someone tell me the difference between an A4 1.9dti and a 1.9dti pd please. I cant seem to find anything on the net(which is a little concerning).

I'm looking at buying this type of car.

    Many thanks

The B6 only ever got the PD engine in 1.9 form.

Basically PD means Pump Deuse. Ie every injector has it's own fuel pump, allowing for more controlled fuel burn... which means more power and less fuel use.

PD as described above (Pumpe Duse - Wikipedia). More peak power due to a huge spike in torque, but they do tend to run much narrower power bands compared to the VP engines like the 2.5TDI's (Volkswagen group Tdi engine with VP 37 injection pump).
