Am I missing something in my engine bay?

After having a look how to remove my headlights I came across an empty space that looks like something used to live there, no idea what though, it's to the left of the bit with the green lid. Does anyone know if there should be something. The car is a 2004 1.8T 190 quattro if that matters.

i have the same space in my tdi and wondered at first lol i dont think its missing any thing mate just a space where they would add some thing on say an s4 or some thing

There is a cover that can be made to fit, there are posts on this forum with guides on how to.

Electric Vacuum Pump for Brake servo - have one on mine just in front of the ABS pump, Part Number 8E0 927 317 B!
Only fitted to models with Tiptronic Transmission.

Ive bought the full cover and cant get it to fit my tdi..
But thats the space I wanna cover up, so would be great...
