hi newbie here,
recentley purchased low mileage a4 1.8t s line convertible, after a week thought to myself there not that nippy ,so come accross a advert for remapping audis, local to where i am ,so had a chat and agreed a remap from 163 bhp to 190+bhp
all went fine ,on way home then keeps going into limp mode(no turbo kicking in) but no fault codes on dash,so takes it back following day and he downloaded another map but same thing happened and he tried doing a custom map to stop limp mode kicking in,after a couple of hours still could not stop limp mode without turning ignition off and on to reset itself,
so rearranged another day to sort out probs put it on diagnostic ,
he said car could be used as norm,
so my partner drives over to her mothers 50mile away, gets there but would not start again!!!so recovery called diagnosing fault code p0601 internal control module, memory check sum error
so question is this down to remapping and has it caused permanant damage
as he's getting a nasty phone call in the morning as costing me £130 recovery
