    Suspension Question (SE model) 2004 A4 Avant 1.9tdi 2wd

I want to lower the car to same height as the sport model for a better look. Can i use the existing SE shocks and just replace the springs? I appreciate that this will not be the best option as far as handling goes, but i wont be taking the car on track days or anything. Has anyone had experiance of this before?

    Cheers

There's no reason why you can't do that, although the lower springs will shorten the life of the SE shocks from what I've read before. And then of course you'd need to take the suspension off just to change the shocks, so its a bit of a false economy. But yes, you could do it.

Not personally as although I need to do mine the mileage was such that I decided to do the springs and shocks together. I managed to pick up a set of S-Line suspension for mine.

Get the S-line stuff, will affect the handling otherwise, dampers are stiffer to complement the harder springs.
