VagCom stopped working

Hey guys

Just went out to use the vagcom. Not used it since I rebuilt my machine. I've only got the VCDS lite. Before I could just see my faults but now I have an error even connecting.

I can't remember what I need to do on setup. Do I need to change any port settings etc?

Any help will be great

What cable have you got?

On some 3rd party ones, if not all, I think you need a USB driver that emulates a serial port?

My 3rd party one came with a link to download a driver, otherwise VCDS couldn't 'see' the cable.

Just got a cable of ebay, i did have it working once i downloaded the free VCDS.

Im not sure if i installed an extra driver.

ah, fixed. I was being stupid.

had to fix the port and set it to run in SP3 mode. All fixed.
