My insurance is up for renewal in about 6 weeks and then I am going for the remap,my present insurer does'nt allow any mods at all so ive got to get that sorted first.Am I right in thinking i will possibly be getting around 225 bhp,so this is about the same as a Scooby wrx which does 0-60 in about 5 seconds and like the Quattro is 4 wheel drive ,I know driveability is more important but out of interest what would 0-60 be after re-map.
The next problem is where to go In my area I am spoilt for choice within 15 miles we have APS.MRC,Amd silverstone and Revo so I need to do some research on prices and such like,Ive seen advert for Amd that they are re-mapping 1.8t for£299.95including diagnostics check, road test, rolling road dyno set up and a laminated power and torque graph they can also supply and fit a pipercross air filter and Forge 007p diverter valve for a £100 when you have your map including vat.Sounds good ?.Would any of you go for the filter or forge or is that a waste of money .APS's re-map is supposed to be smooth and progressive and the Revo 's aggressive.I want it to feel a lot quicker than it does at the present so would you go for the aggressive which has a lot of low down grunt or the progressive which has a more linear delivery.I don't know anything about the MRC map or if they even do one for the 190 as I know they are reknowned for the s4 .The same goes for Amd is that an aggressive map .Anyone have any idea how much the remap effects insurance premium ,hopefully under £100 ?
