Just thought I would share my latest experience.
Over the last year or so my waterpump failed, my oil cooler failed and my coolant tank started leaking. After being fixed and to top it all off the plastic coolant flange on the rear of the engine block failed aswell!
I finally found the motivation and spare hours needed to replace the coolant flange armed with a few diy instructions from various vag forums. My back aches, my hands are cut to pieces and I had Audi tourettes for a few hours trying to undo impossible to get to hose clips and clamps and dropping tools in the process. Absolute bitch of a job and the coolant flange was completely knackered - another ***** design.
Anyway this was last week and so far I have driven a few hundred miles and NO coolant is leaking atall anymore (for now anyway).
...Result!
