Hard slammed!
For the last couple of weeks I've been thinking of selling the A4 and getting more of a fun time car as I'm in a position to not really need a diesel anymore or have to have so much of a 'sensible' car.
But my trouble is, the A4 is such a good car that I'm not sure I'll find something that in as good condition as my car is, or find a car that's literally going to need no work doing to it what so ever. I love how my car looks and the mrs loves the car too, but I have raw power and petrol running through my veins and I'm a massive petrol head that loves a car that I can get by the scruff of the neck and throw it about that also has bags of power. Dont get me wrong, the audi handles brilliantly as I've had KW V1 coilovers fitted, and it's also got an rs4 antiroll bar fitted, coupled with the quattro system it does the job very well, I just need more power! Even though my car has a 210 bhp remap.
So, I've been looking at possibly getting an evo 6 or 7, or an e46 m3. Both evo's are in my terrotry but an e46 m3 I'd be looking at a cat d registered, which I don't mind as long as it's straight and has a certificate to warrant the work being done to a high standard and by a recognised repairer.
Now I met up with a guy last night who has an evo 7 and was interested in doing a straight swap with my car, his car is currently advertised at £7750, the car was described as being in excellent condition etc when clearly when I viewed it, it wasn't. It had a scrape on the front splitter which resulted in hair line cracks in the paint, it had scrapes going up the drivers side bumper edge and onto the front wing, surface rust along the inside lip of the drivers rear arch, a small knock on the rear bumper, saggy and collapsed bolsters on the drivers seat recaro, and both rear tyres were near on bald! It amazes me how some people describe their cars as excellent or mint when they clearly aren't like that! On the other hand my car is exactly that. It is near on immaculate and I really mean that. I'm extremely fussy when it comes to my cars and my car is literally faultless in every way.
And this is were my predicament lies. I want to advertise my car at £7450 which I think is more than a fair price considering it's condition, spec, history, and maintainence etc. But I know a lot of people may see that as over priced, but the price really reflects all of the above and I really think that anyone looking for a b6 a4 of this type will be very hard pushed to find a better one. It really is a one off, it's a 2.5 TDi quattro sport so your getting the economy of a diesel, yet it's a full S4 replica using all genuine Audi S4 parts including the solid alloy wing mirrors! It's a rare 6 speed manual too. Brand new 19x9.5" bbs LM replicas and brand new falken tyres cost me £1000 2 weeks ago! Cambelt and water pump changed, injector changed, clutch, discs, pads, all genuine parts all done at vag specialists, see it's had thousands spent on it!! Yet for some reason people don't seem to appreciate that, you get what you pay for in my eyes.
What do you guys think?
Here are a few pics I took at the weekend to show you what I mean -
Cheers,
Ax
