Hi all, could you clarify the timing belt interval for my 3.0 v6 53 plate, friends dad who owns a garage said 80k ,i beg to differ though, thanks in advance
I believe its 5 years or 75k whichever comes first..........its not just the mileage you have to think about how long in years the belt has been in service.
I'm not 100% sure on the 3.0, but for the majority of A4 engines Audi state 80k or 5 years, but the accepted thinking is usually that 60k is more than enough.
As Chris says, might be worth calling Audi, or a reputable independant specialist, as Im sure there was a change a while ago, as an example, the A/S3 (8L) model are recommended to be done at 50-60k, as opposed to the 80k it says in the book.
i rang leicester audi and they told me cambelt change was due at 120.000 !! thats for the 1st one !!
lucky for me my water pump went and ive done the cambelt tensioners water pump etc
mines a 2002 1.8T
