    Releasing a few horses from 1.8T 190

Hi, ive got a B6 1.8T 190 and im interested in a silicone induction hose as all the ebay links say they help improve bhp, i can find plenty for lower spec 1.8T engines, are they all the same for the engines or would there be different ones for different hp models?
Im only asking as there are some from china, that are very cheap (obviously the quality may show) and some from say Forge, that seem very expensive.
Also, im interested in being able to hear a 'Dump/BOV' noise from my car when changing gear, will a basic aftermarket diverter valve achieve this? as i dont really want to buy an open air filter or Carbonio airbox, as i dont want to change the look under my engine bay.

    All advice/comments welcome

    Thanks
    Shaun

the hose are the same for the 190 163 etc

you need a forge split -r for the noise

Most of the silicon hoses on ebay are China specials and I wouldn't put one on my car. I do get the whoosh noise your after but I needed a Carbonio to get it right.

If you have not already done it, remap your car - it's the best bang for bucks going.

Leave the chav-valve alone, it just screws up the fuelling. Its an Audi, not a Saxo.

Reputable remap really is the best place to spend you money.

I'd second the Rolling Road before you screw around with anything else - best 50 you can spend!

"I" identified a failing fuel pressure regulator with a quick RR and released an extra 20bhp with a quick fix.... and that was on a NA car!!

edit: Chip'N'Spin are doing their RR day on 26-FEB: 250 for a pre-RR, remap and post-RR. Hopefully they're stll doing this, but in the past, if they've found any probs (turbo probs, boost sensor / airflow meter problems, etc), they just charge you for their RR session and print outs (50).

    Thanks for the advice everyone.
Got in touch with a mate who knows someone with a rolling road, so hopefully will get it booked in asap.
So you say any silicone induction hose from the 163 will fit my 190?
Ill see about the re-map after the rolling road etc.
On 10 days off now so im getting my windows tinted, blacking my grills, changing numberplate bulbs and possibly interior ones too.

    Thanks
    Shaun

EDIT: Found this silicone induction hose on ebay, looks pretty reasonable, theres one for closer to 200, but it actually looks cheaper than the one pictured. I dont like the fact that its blue, is it possible to spray silicone black?

make sure you get a RR session where the fuel mix is being measured, even better if it links into the OBDC and can tell u the boost level, etc.

I have no idea, goes into a garage for a week tomorrow.

I had the DV cleaned (baileys) and the N75 changed still not boosting right. Turbo spools can hear it so your guess is as good as mine, just gonna check hoses for leaks tbh.

could you have a leak in the intercooler or a connection to the intercooler, if you dont find any leaking pipe

I personaly dont think it is worth it until you get the map and then i'd probably just grab the forge tip as its tried and tested. although gt3 turbo is a reputable site.

The 190 have twin intercoolers, small ones behind the fog lights
