Help! Drivers Door Wont Open! 2002 A4

    Hey Guys,

Drove to work this morning and when i went to get out of the car, the bloody door wouldnt open!

Tried the key fob etc but nothing worked had to climb out the passenger door!

Anyone had this happen before and what could the possible causes be?

    Thanks

probably broken wire in the flex hose between the car and the door or water has got in there

    Could be mate

Is this a dealer fix or can it be sorted elsewhere you think?

Does it still open from the outside? if so its defiantly the cable or the bracket on the handle. Dealer can fix it for you if you want to pay their expensive labour rate. best off going to a good indy

Wont open inside or out, also tried the actual key in the keyhole, still nothing.

Price the wire at Audi which is 5 and a lock at 130

Would it just be the wire you think?

And can it be repaired from the outside by taking the handle off?

    Thanks

you basically need to get the door open somehow and then you can peel back the rubber sleeve/take the conneection block off to check for water/broken wires.
As to how you get the door open, no idea sorry?

I had this back in September, very very weird. It wouldn't open for about 2 or 3 days, it was seriously peeing me off! Literally the day before I was about to take it somewhere to be sorted it mysteriously started working again and I could open my door from both sides! It's been working perfectly fine ever since.

So it must of had a hissy moment. Hopefully yours is doing the same and will sort it's life out in a day or two?!
