Is it possible to get the Vr6 kinda sound or the B5 2.6 sixcylinder (almost the same as VR6 sound) sound from a 2002 3.0 V6???? the thing is as quiet as it can be..
You will never get a V6 too sound like a VR6
the V6 is a nice sounding engine but the VR6 has an awesome sound track which i might add a big percentage of is induction noise
well at least it was with my corrado any way
even my B5 S4 sounded awesome with a single box system but there is something missing compared to the VR .
afternoon. yep - I can confirm that a Milltek B6 S4 cat back system will make your car sound like darth vader doing a walrus.. in a skip. Actually with unresonated centre pipes it's a bit too loud around 1800 to 2200 rpm for my liking but low down it grumbles nicely and high up it's got a nice, throaty yell.
You'll need headphones to hear the sound here properly

exhibit B YouTube - P1070172
and yes that is my own private test track.. ahem
I added a K&N filter and also ran an extra air duct from behind a fog grill straight into the bottom of the air box but i'm not sure if it made much difference. That said, I did it before fitting the milltek so i'd need to swap back to the standard box to compare.. and I doubt i'll be bothered trying

you know it makes sense! And at the same time it might be worth getting a couple of cats fitted. Rather than bending over and inviting each of the staff at the Audi dealer to have a go (in other words pay about £2000 for a pair of cats) I had the precats on my system gutted and the main cats removed entirely to be replaced by a pair of new S8 cats I had handy. A pair of generic sports cats would do the job as long as they physically fit. a Custom exhaust specialist could give you good advice on what to use. The precats tend to fail and start to disintegrate and the 3.0Q has a great system with each cat made up of downpipe, pre cat and main cat all in one. One unit each side because of the V engine of course.
