hi guys i am going to sell our 2004 04 audi a4 avant 1.9 tdi 130 quattro s line (gmbh kit) its done 115k full audi history up to 92k then ive had it serviced at autoteknik audi specialists in west mids twice replaced anything thats needed replacing every receipt / mot etc etc tonnes of paperwork for the it has alcantara grey suede inserts with leather bolsters all the usual trick bits xenons antrachite alloys (painted) few little chips on the front end little marks here and there (nothing mayjor) im into detailing so if it was to bad it would be fixed straight away and there are tiny rust patches on a couple of arches it drives like the day we brought it 2 years ago and we love it only reason for sale is to get a newer a4 avant 3.0 tdi for towing my mrs horse trailor now and again never towed with this car always used my navara but its not always available and causes rows etc etc and it seems a shame to put a tow bar on and start working it at this point in its life with the mileage i dont doubt for a minute its not capable but we mayaswel upgrade for something with more power it drives and handles amazing better in the rain than most cars in the dry its superb just wondered what you guys would value it at i would say its worth around the 7k mark looking as this is a rare model with this spec????

the interior combo and bose stereo upgrade 18" rs6 alloys all factory fitted not cheap replica s**te, cruise control you will get a a few 130 tdi quattro but not with this interior and added extras from the other ones ive seen advertised that are basic se models i thought 7k was about the going rate just want some of your opinions

id put the reg in on that we buy any car .com see what they offer and then add 2k as thats about what they try and nock of the going rate ;-)

i wouldnt say rare
i know of 3 in shefield with better spec IE nav full leather oem xeon
i would say £5995 at a push but its a buyers market at the min for bigger cars
theres b7's around for 7k ish ok not same spec but newer car and ppl seem to go newer

i think a lot of it comes down to where you are in the uk cars where i am are always a lot more to buy iv seen 2 tdi.s here in the last mth on 51 and 52 plates not as nice as mine go for £5995 and £5795 so an 04 plate here is an easy 7k but it is all about who wants it and so on

cheers simon and funkyfin i would say around 7k is a fair price you will get new shapes for 7k but there basic models and for me quattro is a must due to mrs having horses and when it snows she has to get to them no matter what so as simon says its who wants it and so on,

it will not hurt you to put it up for 7k and if you dont sell it then lower the price no harm in trying i say

The 1.9q is a fairly rare model in fairness, which does make it harder to value.

Do you know for a fact it was sold new with those wheels on it?

hi james yes i have the original order sheet and these are on there as an upgrade they only put them on the 1.8t s line and newer b7 models never seen them as standard on 1.9 tdi's but these was asked for on the order sheet cant remember exact price but they was over £1200 this is what i say as a rare model 1.9 tdi quattro with this spec ive never seen another one for sale as yet

Thats pretty unusual for them to leave the factory like that for sure, but the RS6 style wheel is a pretty popular one on the A4 - I can say that as I own some too :)

The half leather and Bose stereo aren't that unusual to be fair, but the car looks nice and I'm sure you won't have any trouble shifting it.

1.9TDI can be remapped to 175bhp (sometimes 190bhp!), so will have better power-to-weight than a V6 TDI quattro, be more manouvreable and have better power to weight ratio.

Rare as a new car due to high cost, so people with that money normally went for 3.0 petrol or 2.5TDI... but the avant's hold value well, as do quattro's and the 1.9TDI's are popular in the 2nd hand market.

Parkers reckon on £7.5k for avg spec, good condition. But with 60k miles, so well over avg mileage probably puts it closer to £6k - the extras are alcantera (lots will have full leather) and the Xenons are aftermarket, so although nice-to-haves will not add that much value.

That said: it is a rare combo, so if you find somebody who wants that mix, they might part with £7k.

i've been looking at possible avant tdi at lower cost brackets.
at £7k it sounds a nice spec, but high mileage would need to be factored and at £7k unless someone wants that spec with quattro think I would prefer the B7 models which ive seen go for that price

I've only just seen the comment about rust patches in the arches... £6k offer is probably a fair starting point - if he gets offered much more than that, then let it go, for £7.5k, you can probably get something with similar mileage but with full leather and factory Xenons (which are very expensive to retro-fit properly i.e. legally).

Unless the car is really heavilly modified, it'll be easier to sell to a non-enthusiast market as people won't know the ins and outs of the exact spec.

Dont want to thread wreck.. But I have pretty much the same car... Audi A4 Avant 1.9TDI 2004, remaped to 170bhp, ambient lights, H&R coilies, S4 18s, Xenons, Leather/Alcantara trim, Full service history on 72k.. Whats it worth? with and without mods.

Is that an S, SE or Sport?

Mileage?

You said "much the same", but not mentioned quattro?

If it's not, is it definitely the TDI 130 or is ti a 115 / 110 / 100 bhp originally? 170bhp remap is fine and appreciated for most TDI owners, but it will put a lot of strain ont eh clutch if the car was a lower spec TDI originally (but probably fine for TDI130's).

Which mods would you be looking to remove?

A lot of 2nd hand buyers won't touch modified cars because with mainstream insurers it hikes up your premium (or invalidates it if you don't declare it): the suspension would be the main thing that would bother insurers.

Rest of the mods would be unlikely to put people off too much, although technically, it's illegal to sell a car with Xenons fitted unless you've got the auto-levelling adjusters and washers (as per Warlood's full Xenon upgrade)... loads do and you shouldn't have a problem, but just so you know.

Still too many questions to even have a guess at price: could be anything from £4000 for a Standard spec, high mileage regular 100bhp 1.9TDI (60k = avg) to £8500 for a quattro sport TDI130.
