Just spoke to my local Audi dealer after checking the distance left to service (which said 12400 miles), which is obviously wrong as I've only done a couple of hundred from new. He said the figure will work it's way down to zero as the car studies your driving characteristics, and then determines the distance required before service is needed, which can be anything up to 25000 miles.
What's all that about?
In other words, does anyone know any more about this?

cheers.

It will go up as well. Ours started at under 17k but then went up to 18-19k.

It bases the distance to service on

- type of journeys
- condition of oil (using a couple of sensors in the sump)
- driving style

Not really new technology as BMW have had it for years. I believe the minimum distance between services is 9k and the max is around 20k (petrol) or 30k (diesel)
