Heated rear screen question?

I've read on here that if any of the element strips are open circuit on the HRS, it can stop the aerial circuit from working?

The three lower strips aren't clearing the screen, but I can see no damage to them...does anyone know if the demister strip are seperated into sets? Bit of a coincidence that the lower three have failed in one hit!

Any help would be great
