How much would you expect to spend?
Also is there anything else worth doing whilst there? Such as water pump and thermostat?

My 2.5TDi cambelt was changed last Feb at Ian Collins Automotive at Bilsborrow, Nr Garstang. He's a Audi / VW independent specialist, and has been mentioned and recommended on this forum. I am pleased with the work done.
I had all the belts changed (2 auxiliary belts, as well as the timing belt kit), and the water pump and thermostat changed. It's worth doing when the front's off - it would be expensive if either of them failed subsequently.
I paid £456 + VAT (£537 total) - at the time, it was less than the main dealers.
I am told that Ian Collins is an ex-Audi mechanic.

Well hes pretty close to me then! I might have to give him a bell. Last time I spoke to Audi they wanted about 600 ish.

I paid £420 for belts & tensioner pulleys and water pump (with metal impellor) at an independant vag specialist earlier this year.

what ever you do, make sure they know how to do it as its a big job and a ******* if done wrong! Ian Collins Automotive has been said to be very good in other threads, iv not used him but the lads here are not liners,

get water pump and thermostat do at the same time, its a must, + all other belts,
