Audi a4 b6 a/c compressor problem HELP

My air con stopped working at one point and decided to have a loo at it my self and found a sqaure plate that looked like it come off the face of the compressor pulley fitted and the air con started working fine again but it did need a bolt in the middle of the pulley to hold the plate on but the bolt keeps unloosing and the plate is coming off called audi to get another bolt and they don't do them I have to buy the pulley plate n bolt at £130 no way just woundering if any body knows where I can get a bolt from or any ideas I can do to keep the bolt in place , any body got any pics of the front of the compressor ??

Yes mate but I need the bolt in the middle of the pulley but on the pic it doesn't specify anything part numbers etc

No it's not listed is it. Can't you take the bolt into a fastener specialist and see what they've got and then threadlock it in there?

That was I was going to do tonight put a washer on n locktite it up n hope for the best but was just checking with ppl on here thank you very much

Just another quick one does anybody know how long the bolt maybe and do it need a washer to and if so what kind, to pervent this bolt coming back out again

Hi Guys

I've got a similar problem but I've lost the front plate completely!! I've been told that its actually the clutch plate thats fallen off due to the bolt coming out first and then the plate falling off somewhere!!

I've contaced Audi who tell me that the plate can't be bought seperately and I'd have to buy the complete compressor. The trouble is, they changed compressors on the B6 during 2002 and I need to gain access to the Part number to get a price for the correct replacent. With so many compressors out there its a gonna be a hard job to replace without the correct part number.

Does anyone know which compressor clutch plate I'm likely to need as I'm thinking that if I could just find anothe plate my problem will be solved??!!

again last night the plate has come off and sheard the bolt head i have the cluth plate still any other ideas what can do be done.....

I have the exact same problem, that square plate came off, the man pit it back on but I've noticed it's come off again!!! Any solutions you find would be massively appreciated!!

hmmm i have a smiler prob but my plate is still there but dose not turn when you put aircon on id like any info on this if any one noes what it maybe thanks ;-) sorry to pich your thread mate just iv not had it working from the time i have had the car ;-( can these compresors be striped down ?
