Whats the general opinion with DRLs. Always on or only sometimes??

I belive they are standard on all new A3s,
but i can only comment on S3s for first hand experience... if you dont have the auto light and rain sensor pack then thier is a position on the lights dial for DRL so you can turn them on. (there was on the one i test drove intially)
On mine, which does have auto light and rain pack thier is no specific switch to turn them on, they come on when lights are in auto mode (where auto takes places of DRL switch on the dash dial).

Always ON. The whole point of DRLs is to make your car more visible to pedestrians trying to cross the road and to other vehicle waiting to come out of junctions etc. They will soon be require by law to be on all the time so why not use them now. On the A3, if you have Xenon headlights then you get LED DRLs and if you have halogen headlights you get a separate low power long life bulb as part of the headlight cluster.

Off on mine as the are not LEDs.

At least you can turn them off on the A3, Some new cars such as the Fiat 500, they are always on and you cant do anything about it!
