Hi.

is there a way of reading / logging the boost under driving?

I have a feeling that the engine is not pulling evenly.
sometimes it feels great and other times it is boring.

I do not use this car every day so its hard to compare it from time to time.

any ideas?

you can use vag-com/vcds to log realtime boost, but Iv been told the sensor only measures up to 2600mbar boost!? bare in mind 1000mbar is sea level air pressure. Is there an upgrade thrust sensor for cars running more boost other than a aftermarket gauge?

the sensor is a 3 bar sensor inside the ecu, that is 2bar above atmouspheric, but the output available over the obd port to log only goes up to 2601mbar absolute, so if your boost goes above 1.6bar real boost you cant tell what it is without a real boost gauge

The boost sensor can be changed for a 4 bar or higher if wanted. This usually reqires fitted a new plug to connect to the sensor and modifing the hole the sensor fits in or making a custom pipe. Read this thread for more info.http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=261183&highlight=sensor
Another way is to get the car remapped so as to re-calibrate the sensor to read higher on Vagcom as a friend of mine did.
