    Replacing 2.0 TDi engine: 140hp BKD with 170hp BMN

    Hi folks, I'v got 04 reg A3 2.0 TDi (140BHP BKD). Unfortunately the enginez seized on it. Now that I have to change the engine, thinking of upgrading it to 170BHP BMN engine. Do u kno if this conversion is possible? Wot other bits will I need to replace along with the engine to make it all compatible i.e. rad pack, turbo pipes etc etc. Any similar experiences?

    Why dont you replace with same engine and get a remap, and hybrid turbo, then you wont have to replace any bit. You could get the same or even more than 170BHP with that.

    Well I'm getting the BMN cheaper as compared to BKD. And how much it would cost me for hybrid turbo n remap?

    Hybrid is about 1200-1400 & remap for hybrid is custom so about 300-500 & would get upto 230 horses.

    You need to compare BKD/BMN fittings & turbo as BKD turbo maybe different to BMN as I seem to recall some turbo's have sensors & wiring directly attached where as BKD has none given I have 2 BKD's.

    Would you be breaking that BKD engine by any chance...
    Audi A3 (8P) 2.0TDI SE .:. Ebony Black, Sports Suspension, Vienna Beige Sports Leather Seats, Concert II & BOSE, 6 CD-Changer, Xenons, Acoustic Parking Sensors & All The Packs .:.

    Not a hope in hell of swopping engines mate without a lot of work. You would need the ECU,engine,turbo,down pipe and all the wiring and still it would be a major job. If you want aPD140 BKD engine i have a spare complete one for sale plus several engines stripped for parts.
    06 Audi 2.0 PD140 Sport TDI Quattro S-LINE.
    Old engine 330 bhp @ flywheel 263 bhp @ wheel 490 lb torque. Audidriver write up HERE
    Now stripped and playing with an uprated Cryo treated engine fitted with bigger turbo,water/methanol,uprated injectors etc etc.Wanting 400 bhp and 500 lb torque.

    Other car 500+ bhp MK4 Golf R32 turbo.

    How much do u want for urs? Where r u based n wots the warranty & mileage on the engine?

    How is that cryo etc coming along Mikey, did you download those links I sent you?

    Got the car all up and running but the tubular manifold kept on cracking due to not having enough room to exspand on one of the runners. The car is now back getting the turbo refitted in a different location by JEK fabrication who specialise in manifolds which means changing all the oil feed,inlet,outlet pipes plus down pipe etc. Hopefully back on the road in about 10 days as Rui is comming over from Portiguel to live map my car on a dyno then road between 22-25 April.

    Rui Lopes is a friend of mine who lives in Portugal. He writes custom remaps and works for RLMotorsport.

    hello people im new here , ive got an A3 with a BMN And mine has also seized up solid it started knocking and game over ive got a feeling the oil pump has packed up has anybody got any ideas whats wrong. Ive been told it hasnt got the problematic shaft driven oil pump and its on a chain and sprocket. Any ideas ??? As I havnt had time to strip it yet.
