Hi.

My current diesel 2005 A3 has a downfacing twin exhaust, how would I replace this which a stainless steel straight twin exhaust? Would a tip work or would the current require replacing as it is downfacing.

Thanks.

There's a thread on this, did you try search? Use a dremmel or angle grinder, take the tips off and the new trims are approx 74mm and look good when done.

I think I've read somewhere that you have to saw off the two existing twin pipes first. That put me off the idea !

I had a mk5 Golf which had twin downturned pipes (same as my current tdi140) and i bought a TDi170 backbox which fitted on using a reducer pipe

maybe the later TDi140 backbox will fit straight on?
