    DENSO IK24 on K04 @ 1.6 bar

    Does anyone run Denso IK24 on 2.0 TFSI K04 with 1.6 bar boost (~24psi) ? Did you feel any performance gains over stock ones? How is really cold start with them, something like -20c (-4F) ?

    i thought ik22 are for the 2.0tfsi?

    People recommend Ik24 as a 2 step colder plug than stock, for high boosted cars. I just want to know if they are worth of install and if they are capable of firing the car on really cold temps in winter

    Good question, ive been considering them for a while now...my mate on his astra opc had them installed and said it was much better...

    I've been running NGK Iridium BKR8EIX (which are 2 steps cooler than the 6's that are recommended). This is with stage 2 set up.

    Cold start is OK, but a bit patchy with the car idling a little rough. Once you are up to temperature and giving it the beans it feels very good (almost like the extra boost isn't hurting the car so much).

    However I was talking to someone about it last weekend and they said if an engine is running properly (e.g. modified, but within reasonable parameters) you should never have to deviate from the recommended heat setting, only upgrade the plug used.

    Urban legends, opinions, myths.... who the hell are you supposed to believe???

    I am interested in this topic as I believe my spark plugs could be causing a flat spot I am experiencing at ~4400 rpm.

    The plugs I was looking at getting are these ones which are 1 step cooler than stock:

    My car has covered 28k (8k of them at stage 1) so I think it is probably time for a plug change anyway as they have not been changed yet.

    First I will try with IK24, if everything will be ok then I'll leave them, if not I'll put IK22 (I ordered them also just in case)
