Hi guys
First post here, so wanted to say hello.

Im fitting an Alpine IDA X305 in a week or two and wanted to store the iPod in the card tray. Ive got a old black 80GB which is too tall, but ive also got a Classic which fits in perfectly, until you go to close the tray, when it gets stuck...

Has anyone modded the tray to fit a Classic? I have a feeling it will only need a mm here or there, its so close...
I can get pictures/video if it helps?

Lee

Any ideas? Would love to get this working - Could use a wasted space in the car and not have to put it in the glovebox

Whyyyyy did you take a driver tooo it?

Its scratched now?? You need to get yourself a trim tool.

Is it that the Ipod has to much depth so as soon as it gets in the tray it pushes up or what?? I think it is possible...

If all else fails. Get a nano!!

Hahaha its ok, im not precious about cars - Its used to already has one or two little similar bits here and there. And ive already bought another tray to mod ready for the iPod anyway :)

It seems to sit fine the in tray - Cant see what the issue is... It goes in fine all the way, until you push it closed, then it doesnt rebound that tiny bit like normal

Dont want a Nano - Need the GB of the classic.

The only thing i can think of is its a weight problem!!

I know that when coins are in my tray it weighs it down and pops out slower!!

I have a classic.. Il try when im in it next for you buddy!!

Ahhh nice one! Cheers mate!
As I said, ive got a spare one ready to attack with a blade... mwahahaha!
IF I can get it to work, it should be a tidy little spot to leave it.
