Hi all, has anyone experienced and corrected engine hesitation/ miss fire on a tdi?

At about 2500 - 3,000 rpm and above I have a real problem with car holding back and becoming jerky & hesitant, the problem is there most of the time but is more noticable when engine under pressure. Tried different garages when filling up with diesel + additives but this hasn't worked. Driving the car below £2500 rpm no problems & no problems starting.

Thinking it maybe the fuel filter, please any ideas/possible solutions much appreciated.

The car is A3 sportback Quattro, TDi 170 BHP, Oct 1996. £35,000 miles

Had problem fixed by Audi, it was the fuel pump leaking oil into fuel and injectors. £500 lighter fixed and running like a dream.

Fuel pump leaking oil into fuel & injectors, can you elaborate on that a bit as didnt think the pump had any oil or oil linked.
