    Changing wheel size

    is there any difference in handling if you change your wheel size i,e from 17s to 18s
    and what would you reccomend for a 2004 sportsback size wise many thanks

    It wont make any noticeable difference - I have had 19's on my A3 TDI and S3 for 3 years and love them. Never noticed any difference in performance.

    You may get a slight decrease in acceleration due to the wheels being a bit heavier the larger you go obviously

    But nothing that will make you notice really

    As N8 said, 19's on an A3/S3 are perfect, and drop it a little on coilovers/springs
    Currently driving a 55 plate Ford Mondeo ST. But as Arnie once said...

    Will look like a truck trust me - I put my 19s on my S3 to drive it to my mate to fit the springs and it looked awful IMO!

    I just fitted some 19's to mine and the acceleration has suffered a tiny but coupled with the coilover drop it just looks lovely! So i dont mind really.
    Audi A3 170 TDI S-Line now 220+, Dolphin Grey, Milltek DPF Delete, Milltek Cat Back (non res), Facelift Rear Lights, Custom Code Remap, Bilstein Coilovers, Bose with 12' Sub in the boot

    Audi RS6 C5 White with a black roof, wheels and mirrors (but watch this space!) Bilstein PSS9, Full turbo back (no cats) Milltek no res exhaust, K&N Panels and a Revo stage two map (coming soon - hotchkis ARB's and brake upgrade)
