Hi all, this is my first post, although I have been lurking for a while, and I own a 2.0 TFSI DSG sportback that I bought, mainly for my wife, back in April.
Since buying the car I have had the low oil warning light appear twice, the second time only a day ago. I topped it up again with 1L of 5W-30 long life oil (recommended for A3's on variable service intervals) this morning and I noticed that there was a small amount of emulsification on the oil filler cap....only a few spots. I hadn't seen this the last time I topped up the oil.
1.Should I be worried about this amount of oil consumption? FWIW my Civic Type-R has consumed less oil in the same amount of time.....although in this weather it's stuck on the drive
2. Should I be worried about the spots of emulsification? Or, should I just put it down to the high moisture weather that we have been experiencing?
Just to also mention that the car is never booted from cold and I leave it running for short time after any medium/long drive.....whether my missus does the same I wouldn't be too sure, but she's pretty sensible when it comes to cars.
If I should get it checked over I'm not too bothered as I wangled 2 years manufacturers warranty on top of the the first year on the car when I bought it.
Cheers in advance for your help.
