Hi all,

As coming to getting my new car. I have always noticed and thought the 09 engine was much better although the same power etc. After checking the chasis number I currently have a CDL which is the newer engine " Chain driven I'm led to believe ".

It seems to oull much stronger and seems a tad more responsive.

See what you have as In my orange S3 it was a BHZ.

Scroll down a little

Just a note to reference.

I can't remember the engine code for it now but the chain driven version your referring to is the one that's in the new A4 that has 254 lb ft torque and is not the same as the one if the A3 2.0 TFSI, which did recieve an engine update during the facelift however which gave it a wider spread of torque (207 lb ft from 1800 rpm)

I knew there had been an update, just I didn't know what changes had been made to make it feel so much better.

You are thinking about the TSI not the TFSI!

The K04 turbo is yet to be mounted to a TSI by VAG in any way shape or form yet.
