I have a 2004 A3 2.0 TDI with 80,000 miles and my Emission Control System light has recently become lit. I have done a VAG COM scan and I am getting the following:
1 Fault Found:
16785 - EGR System: Insufficient Flow
P0401 - 000 - - - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
RPM: 1575 /min
Torque: 44.0 Nm
Speed: 55.0 km/h
Load: 10.6 %
Duty Cycle: 14.7 %
Bin. Bits: 11000000
Mass Air / Rev.: 315.0 mg/str
I reset the code but it came back after about 30 miles worth of driving. I believe this could be down to the EGR valve needing a good clean. Would you agree or disagree? If you do agree, is there a good resource available for a step by step method to carry out this bound to be dirty job
