Hi all!

First post as I finally became the owner of a 2007 S3 a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! :jump:

I want to get my iPod linked upto the car and am looking into options available. I've searched the forums but couldn't quite find the right answer.

I've got the Sat Nav Plus and ideally want to integrate the Ipod fully into that. Such that I can browse and select Albums/Songs/Artists all via the Sat Nav screen. Is there anything available that will do this?

I know Audi does a connector but I believe this is quite restricted and won't do what I'm after. You can only select a number of playlists and that's it.

Any help greatly appreciated

Hi,

I don't have the RNSE but i have been looking it to all sorts of Audi Ipod connections.

The Alpine KCE 425i Video might be what you are looking for.

Here is a demo from hazzydayz website http://www.vwcruise.com/60.html

hope this helps

R7SAN thanks for the info. That does indeed look very cool and does everything I want. Only drawback is the price, £450!

I guess the price is so high due to the video capabilties, although cool, it's not something I'd really use that much driving along!

Is there anything else at a cheaper price that has similar capabilties but without the video?

I just found it online and it's around £160 from the usual online ICE retailers. Where did you get £450 from???

That price came from the website link provided earlier in the thread. I presume that must be the fitted price. Is anything else required apart from the Alpine KCE-425i ??? How easy is it to install?

See link below with prices fitted that I saw:

It looks like just the Alpine KCE-425i is not the full solution, going by various searches it looks like an "IMA Multimedia Adapter" is also required.

How easy is it to install? i guess that depends on how comfortable you are at playing with car electronics.

Installation instructions for IMA Multimedia Adapter are here:

Hmm just looked on the talkaudio forum people have said Alpine KCE-425i is not all that good.http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?p=3602486

I think your best bet will probaly be one of the Denison ICE link products
http://www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk/http://www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk/Audi

maybe one of those will do everything you want or atleast be very close?

Mattandrew has the KCE-425i kit as sold by Hazydays - http://audi-sport.net/vb/showpost.php?p=811151&postcount=7 - and speaks very highly of it.

As far as I'm aware the Denison kits do not make use of the RNS-E screen like this Alpine kit does.

Ever since trading in my 206 with its single din Alpine iPod head unit, my in-car iPod experience has been really disappointing.

If you want to browse the iPod like you would if it were in your hand (whilst it's tucked safely away in your glovebox!) then unfortunately there's only one option.

When I bring my car to the UK early next year I'll be getting one fitted. Can't come soon enough!
