where do you guys go for servicing?

mines due now, i have full audi history so far, but the first service since ive had the car is due.

is it worth going to audi's? they want £200 for a major, and £100 for interim. the only real difference is fuel filter and air filter! could just get the interim done and do the fuel/air filters myself?

and do you think it will bother people having a local garage stamp instead of audi main dealer stamp when it comes to sale time?

I think if your car is low mileage ie say under 100k it is worth doing after that point you tend to find with most premium brands like bmw audi etc people tend to find a good specialist to service their car as there isnt much value you in sending to stealers as at that point you cant even purchase a warranty through them.

The air filter is very easy to change. You can do it yourself. The fuel filter is a bit difficult. You have to be careful and keep everything around clean. The fuel filter is actually a paper cartridge. The one in place already will not come off very easy. Try to get some of the fuel out and pull hard on the cartridge. When you insert the new one, you have to align the hoses on top of the holes in the filter and pres quite hard on it to insert it.
The filter for the climate is also a bit hard to replace. You have to remove the glove box first. The filter is behind it.

If you car already has FASH, then I would continue it personally. I did all my servicing myself in my A3 but with the S3, when the service is due, I will go to Audi but I will service it myself between times with oil changes etc...

i can do all the servicing myself easy, im just more bothered about having the proper audi stamp in my service book - just thinking how much it matters come sale time.

the only difference between major and interim service is fuel and air filter for an extra £100 - not worth it IMO.

id rather pay 100 quid, get the stamp, and do the air and fuel filter myself.

or do the whole lot myself but no stamp
