A few weeks ago the engine man light came on. After investigation I noticed F8 fuse blown. Replaced with 10amp but it blew immdiatley on ignition. Any ideas on the reason for this F8 fuse to keep blowing? And also is F8 fise the reason for the engine man light coming on? Thanks in advance!!

Is this the fuse a few people were talking about recently that blows due to the IMF?

Does your ECON light stay permanently on when you come to at standstill?

F8 is the fuse for the aircon and your throttle body - check your manual

Do you have access to vagcom?

Search the site for fault V157 - common enough with the A3 TDI's and there have been several topics on it recently which result in a throttle body replacement - can be bought for £175 from Eurocarparts and will take about 45mins to fit yourself

The ECON light is not on. HOWEVER the aircon has never worked since we bought the car, i assumed it needed a recharge although you don't get that dip in revs at tick over when you take out of ECON mode when the compressor should be kicking in.

Whats the best VGA com cable to buy and where from? I will get one ASAP!!
