As the title says really, I want to buy steel wheels for my a3. I know that the mk5 golf and a few other variants share the 5 x112 stud diameter but can I get steels to fit? What size do I need to clear the brakes, has anyone done it before and do I need different wheelbolts?

TIA
Joe

What for if you do not mind me asking?

What type of A3 do you have? will depend on brake and caliper size if the steels will fit

Check against similar golf models

As long as the pcd, width and offset clear the brakes then there should not be an issue but IMO a set of steels on an A3 is kind of defeating the purpose of owning a prestigious car in the first place

(unless you are going banded steels euro style or something like that!)

It says in the title, it's temporary while I get my s-line wheels refurbed. I have a 2.0 TDi DSG. cheers for your help.

You need 16's I'd imagine, as that's the standard size

There's also loads of dirt cheap unwanted alloys around, I'm sure.
