What car is faster, more practical, with better fuel economy, and costs less than an S3 sportback?

New or second hand?

I am already thinking a (to be DMS mapped) E91 335D; maybe not faster, but certainly not much slower. Obviously 2nd hand like this 'un.

Yeah it'd have to be a performance diesel. But to be faster than an S3 you're talking 3 litres at least but they generally cost more as they're made by premium brands, well the good ones are anyway.

I think you are asking for the impossible!
