Guy's and girls - Sorry if I've posted in the wrong section - but figured I'd get a quicker response seeing as I need to make decision urgently.

Car is 58 plate S3 - covered 5600 miles (bought with 3900 miles on the clock from Bedford Audi) on variable servicing routine. Car says oil change due in 3600 miles or 19 days! Just rung Audi Bedford (part of Vindis Group) and got quoted £159 oil and filter change!!

Seems a lot to me, and I've noticed some of you opted for Kwikfit - £47 I believe?

Question is should I stick with Bedford Audi for it or go Kwikfit - would this hinder my warranty and any other small print Audi may have?
Also could I leave the oil change until I've covered the 3600 extra miles or should I always opt for 'whatever comes soonest'?

Help / advice really appreciated in advance!

Thanks

You're in the right section don't worry.

I was phoning around for quotes before and was told £117 from York. I then asked Bedford and they dropped theirs to £125.

Try phoning York and Milton Keynes (there was another one that someone recommended but I can't find the thread!) get the best price and then call Bedford back. They're pretty good at price matching and their customer service seems far better than most.

EDIT: In terms of Kwik-Fit that's down to personal choice. I wouldn't let anyone other than Audi touch my S3. Not yet anyway.

I'd opt for dealer service based on getting a decent courtesy to have a little play with...Kwik Fit won't give you a car at all...

I believe your warranty is only void if non recommended parts or fluids are used. However I was informed that as my car is on a PCP plan through Audi Finance it needed to have an Audi service history...

Mine is being done next week and I was quoted £143 in Swindon.

A lot for oil I agree, but then you also get a 'free' health check - which looks to me like what they do at a normal inspection service!

No idea what the Service due in 4000 Miles will entail as I don't believe any parts are changed at 20k ( maybe pollen filter ) - probably £150 for them to check nothing has fallen off!

Thanks Staz - Tend to agree think I'd prefer to pay that little bit more knowing Audi have done it as opposed to someone else! Ok will do some price matching, think it was Huntingdon or Macclesfield (judging by the 'Post your AVS servicing quote section'. But should I wait until I've done another 3600 miles like the system says or have it done now like the system says?:wtf:

Yeah you need to do it when the mileage is due or the date, whichever comes first. For most it's the mileage first.

I think it was somewhere right down south to be honest. It was a good price. But York and MK have given me the best prices in the past. You just tell them you work up North or something.

I was fortunate enough to have an offer of £150 for the first 3 services on mine, which, given the quotes you've had, seems like a bargain.

Even so,I am not sure I would trust KwikFit etc to use the correct long-life synthetic, and would stick with the dealer or a specialist.

Thanks guys - really appreciate your help. Definately have an Audi dealer take care of it (certainly for the near future anyway).

Just rung Wayside Audi (Milton Keynes - Bletchley) = £163 so actually more than Bedford. Will try York in a min when the boss isn't around and let you know. I'll update on the AVS section quotes afterwards.

Just on a slightly different note - anyone else noticed in their S3 - a slight ticking noise coming from the alloys? Noticed this in the TT i Onced had - is this just normal Audi?

Oh yeah don't forget, once they give you the price just say "Is that the best price you can do?" and THEN they give you the good price lol

Only had ticking when there's been a stone stuck in the tread :uhm:
