I just revved my new 1.6 A3 (done 1700 miles) to just over 5000RPM, when the engine was cold, and feel guilty! Sorry about sounding soft, but I wont have harmed it will I?

lol... i'm the same... your engine will be fine. it's like if you eat a burger every few weeks it's fine, but 100 a day then it's unhealthy!
