No, it's not what you're thinking, this is clean.
Have a strange noise coming from my car and wondered if any of you guys have had similar and can throw some light....
Here goes. My car is a Sportback Sport, 140 Tdi with DSG, almost 4 years old and covered 82K.
When the car has been switched off, between 15-40 seconds after the car emits a strange wailing sound from under the bonnet. I can best describe this as sounding like the last breath of a dying trombone being squashed! [use your imagination]. It continues for 10-20 seconds. Does not matter if the car is hot or cold, been run for 1 minute, 1 hour or 100 miles. Sounds like either something releasing pressure or closing down.
Not done any real research as yet, thought you guys may be able to nudge me in the right direction.
Any help, suggestions or remedies would be most welcome.
