ive been working on this number of months, just before i purchased the S3 I bought the american number plate holder for my sline grill. I have had my plates cut down since i bought the car and it all ways annoyed me that the recess was the wrong size.
I purchased the american number plate holder and then dremelled the lower section and it was perfect for my private plate (?? MDA)

The problem with the S3 is the number plate holder is part of the grill unlike the sline. It would mean buying an american S3 grill, but this may not work as when you remove the lower section of the number plate holder it may remove a section of the grill.
I am currently working on an alternative for the S3, ill keep you updated.
