Interior Light Pack on A3 cabriolet

Can anyone supply a picture of the ambient lighting in the centre roof console by the map reading lights. I would like to retro fit but am unsure where they should go.

    Thanks in advance

They sit about 1cm from the front of the plastic trim, just ambience lighting above the gear area Neil

You could pull down the light assembly & see if its got holes marked on the inside then you can gauge where they sit from this, sometimes they mould the units with markings for holes.

I have taken the unit down and there are two holes. I from looking inside (the first picture) I think the area shown by the red arrows relate to the microphone etc not the lights. Looking at the second picture the holes shown by the red arrows relate to picture one. The area shown by the blue arrows are the alarm PIR's

Neil, would appear its gonna be a retro mod mate as etka isnt atm showing ambient lighting in the head unit for ther cab, you could use the same unit & just extend the wires to each led & drill some holes as the plastic isnt that hard & then glue the led's in place, could be done fairly easily mate, then just tag onto the illumination circuit.

I need to open my map light which appears to be the same on a 2007 cab S4. Does it just pry out with a flat head screw driver?

If I remember correctly it does yes. But use a plastic flat tool as a screwdriver will mark the plastic

Sorry to hijack - is the bluetooth microphone supposed to fit into that light assembly?
