Hi all

Thought i'd post a thread as i wasn't sure what else to do and thought maybe a few membes on ASN may have ideas or be able to help me out. And also to warn you not to buy certain items off a seller on ebay. Basically i bought a bumper off ebay back end of march Lava Grey Standard Facelift bumper and grill. Bought it for a friend as he wanted the one grill. I wont just buy any thing off ebay i check the feedback out, how long they been on ebay and this company seemed to be fine and respectful company how wrong was i!

Anyway was delivered all i can say is WASTE OF TIME...Bumper was more damaged than we expected and from the photos it just show a few marks and little crack. Grill was broken in half where some mongo tried to take the girll of the bumper. Still had the plate on it, which i asked them to remove before posting it out. Grill didnt bother us as he had an S-line one.

Anyway friend was like thats fine i'll just stick it on the car in a few weeks get it sprayed etc. Wouldnt fit his A3 basically every time the bumper was connected to the front of the car it fell off withing a few f*cking minutes.
Now i've decided its going back emailed seller no reply for two weeks. So opend a dispute on paypal seller straight away send it back and you can have a refund. Bumper should of really been collected around 27th but missed courier. Item got collected and was delivered and signed for on the 6th of may. Anyway dispute was still going on they were asking for more information regarding courier, the booking number etc etc. Emailed them every thing i had i also paid courier through paypal. So they could see that. Last week they closed the dispute saying they do not have enough information and seller saying he doesnt have the item still!

I dont expect any thing dodge from the courier i've been using them from last year and there service is probably one of the best! Seller a f*cking tw*t ignores my emails, emails back like a stupid little child acting dumb and more a les winding me up... I've not left negative feedback as i'm trying to resolve the problem but seems i'm just being taken for a mug. I've been more than patient and i feel like a d*ck. This been going on since April its now June. Courier been more than helpful, they even tried to contact the seller where it was delivered back to, to only get the phone put down on them.

And i'm still waiting for a f*cking refund its only £71.50 it's not the money its just the fact they taken me for a ride. I've emailed them today saying they have till sunday to refund me my money or send an A3 bumper and grill to me...I'm not sure what else to do. I've emailed paypal asking them to re-open the case as the courier has prove it was 100% delivered.

Any of you guys have any ideas? What else i can do?

Thanks

Ashley

Keep trying with the ebay dispute mate and keep watching to see if he relists it. Other than that I dunno mate.

Just dont give up

Keep hastling him until he pays up.

Create a new account and buy all his things and dont pay for them (is this just petty?)

Keep on raising a dispute over and over??

Sorry to hear this mate, terrible news, and you can bet that now these buggers have the cash they will bin the item to make it 'vanish'.

Firstly you have paid for a service, and the delivery process should require a signature (surely). This is physical evidence to add to the paperwork you have.

May be worth going by the Citizens Advice Bureau as they know people who can set things rolling, and for the sake of some of your time it may help you as to where to attack this from.

or small claims court, its a couple of forms and when you win they should pay costs.

i had this problem, got myself a pair of shorts off ebay, in the end i opened up 5 disputes, and nothing happened, the buyer took my 30 quid, i think ebay need to sort something out regarding calling someone or emailing someone. keep on trying and also, as said, take it to court, the seller had sold you something that is not as stated in the advert, false advertisement, inform ebay that you will be doing this!!!!

Ebay and Paypal are as one,its a monopoly so no good asking either of them get the Ombudsman on it Ashley

I always feel that violence is a good way to sort things like this out :ninja:

see what hes buying and open a false account and sell similar stuff he buys..... he will get on to it eventually this is to get his address.... then go round climb over and paint strip everything in sight hahahahaha and buy every thing he sells on ebay in fact make your life's mission to destroy him financially mentally and physically .....lol

TBH Ash, its one of those things now, honest people are getting shafted by the idiots that use Ebay. Your only real recourse is if you used a CC to fund your Paypal, report it to them and have them fight it. You have the Signature etc to prove it has been recieved by the Company.

It sounds much like the guy i dealt with a while ago, a specialist Audi breaker on Ebay, as soon as he had the cash, he couldn't be *****. Shame Ebay used to be good.

The only other thing i can think of is to pay him a visit and ask for the cash back, or a replacement bumper, or take it on the chin and post follow up feedback to say he isn't to be trusted etc

could try this worked for me i bought a nintendo ds off ebay new genuine £119

when it arrived opened it and new straight away it was a copy ,opened a dispute with paypal ,they said send it back email us proof of reciept of sending

dispute started december 22nd still going in febuary

then i found out that paypal have to abide by uk banking laws to work in this country

i wrote there complaints department a snotty letter stating that they have to abide to english ruling and if i didnt get a refund i would have no option but to take them to a small claims court and that they would end up paying court fees on top .

since paypal isnt in this country they cant send a representative to court for them so immediately they have lost the case .

within 6 hours of sending this letter the full amount had been refunded directly to my credit card with an apology email as well

try it you cant loose anything else .

Hi Warren

Probably have been sold...! Yes this courier need every item they delivered signed for or they just hold the item for up to 3days before it would of been sent back to me. I've asked the courier to send an letter to prove where it was delivered and who it was signed by.

If no luck will try what you suggested Citizens Advice Bureau and hopefully they will be able to get this sorted.

Thanks for your advice

Ashley

If you can't get anywhere with PayPal (as in reopening the dispute) then contact the Financial Ombudsman who can escalate the complaint to PayPal. It's all in the PayPal terms: https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/w...2119927117e3a6765c403f4977abcf#dispute-policy

Hi Scott

Thanks for the link i'll have a good read and see if they are able to help and sort this mess out. Paypal been quite crap

Hi

Seems to be a common problem on ebay. Send time for me, guy in london was suppose to send me an S3 bumpers and xenons. Xenons were damaged and missing parts! Bumpers happend to be S-line. Guy tried telling me there S3 after 2weeks of nothing and attitude. Asked an family member to pay the guy a visit so which i got my full refund back and the guy decided he didnt want the parts back and i can keep them :)
Thanks for the advice mate. I wont give up and hopefully ebay and paypal can change there ways a bit to help honest people like our self who people are trying to scam.

Thanks

Ashley

I emailed to say i either want the money or a replacement bumper and grill that will fit the car this time. I will be posting feedback to make other people aware that this guy 100% ********! :) You still on for next sunday mate?

Ok the seller emailed back. After i said i'd come up he emailed me to messages today. First one:

'ok come up and bring the bumper with you and i will refund you'

Second One: 'well you have not sent it to me where is it ??when i get it back you get your cash'.!

I'm oday I'm waiting to the courier to get all the information and interview the driver and to send it to me so i can fax to paypal should be here by Friday. If i end up going up there to get my money back I'll....
Best not to say in public forum!;)
Paypal have sent me two emails saying if i can get a letter or some sort of proof from the courier they will refund the amount

Thanks

that seller is a dishonest shyte got a link to him ?? Get the proof of delivery off the courier and you should be fine ash ...

Ive had a couple of disputes with dishonest people in the past and won ... But you got to have the proof if so you will get a refund and the seller loses :applaus:

Just an update still no joy with this case at all. Not given up yet. Also i'd like to write down to sellers user i.d off ebay on here so that fellow members on here dont fall victim to there scams like myself and many others have. If thats ok mods? I've used both sellers and both are sh*t heads. One stole £600 off some one i know on xenon head lights but the state they were in was terrible and parts missing. This was last October and still no refund.

yeah gimi a link il have some fun wi that summa bit$% lol

I've sent two emails off to paypal no reply as yet.

This is the last one:

'On the 24/03/09 I purchase an Audi A3 Bumper from the following seller MJ Services.
The item when received was not as described as it was on the auction site eBay and therefore it was totally incompatible for my vehicle.
I returned the bumper to the seller on the 6/5/09 the courier company confirmed the seller signed for it and took delivery at 10.30am that day. I have received no refund to date. I then contacted yourselves you requested I provide a tracking number which I have (umz95691 and website is www.city-link.co.uk)
I want this matter resolved ASAP and my refund returned.
If I do not have a satisfactory conclusion (eg refund in full) you leave me no other alternative but to instruct my solicitor
to commence processdings through the small claims court.
As you are aware you ie Paypal should abide by the Uk Banking Laws to operate in this country.
Therefore I await your reply. '

Hopefully they will reply and take action! What you think of the email lads?
The seller im dealing with i will not name and shame YET.
But there is a seller who i will name and shame! I.d is holland6609. He currently selling a Black Audi A3 S-line Front Bumper. If you do wish to buy this ask for some close up photo's. I bought xenon's, front and back bumper for a3 S-line last year and they state they was in was terrible they end up down the tip (bumpers)! Xenon were missing quite a bit not sure if Nigel can remember the head lights i had last year? You were interested in them but they need a lot of work and ythey were gonna be your tester for lhd?
They were going to cost quite a bit to get parts need for them to work! I was sold them 'fully working order' Didnt even have any thing was more a less just the casing!

Blazin i will pm you the guy who im having trouble with mate.
Once again thanks all for comments & appreicate the help

Ashley

EDIT: After speaking to a mod its ok for me to go head and out names down. Here the link to the guy who ahs my money and the bumpers. User i.d is just_bumpers_midlands_uk
http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/just_bumpers_midlands_uk?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1181

Last year problem holland6609.

Those are the two people i've had problems with. With the holland6609. I know he scammed two people i know one has a bmw other one has an Audi. If you are gonna buy off sellers once again please ask for part numbers, close up shots of the item, contact number mobile and landline and address but you get that from paypal im guessing?
Thanks

Paypal are a total joke Ash. Bought a Abercrombie shirt a while ago and when it arrived you could tell it was a fake. Emailed Abercrombie in London and they said it was a fake too. Paypal said they would not pursue the dispute unless I took the shirt to a Abercrombie shop and got a letter off them stating the fact it was fake. What sort of **** is that? As if I am going to drive the 140 miles to London just because they wouldn't accept an email.

Keep at it Ash and your letter sounds fine. Too many people just give up which is what Paypal and Ebay want. They honestly could not give 2 shits as long as they get their extortionate fees......buyer protection my ***!!!

the case is still open though right ... if so it will work out just start mailing paypal to death

Paypal are jokes. I've done every thing they have asked me to do and still nothing. They must be having a laugh take the shirt to London 140miles away just to get some paper work! They should of just believed you and sent it back and got a refund! lol i know buyer protection not done any thing for me! Yeah i''ll just keep it going in till i get a refund.
Thanks

No they closed it end of May and it been going on since March. So i've been trying to contact the seller myself but no luck. So i wrote that letter/email to them. They said they need paper work to reopen the case to which i said i've faxed and emailed the letters over to you! And then no reply. Hopefully after that email i will get my refund

so your not gona get nothing tbh i wouldnt bother mate youve been ripped another dishonest shyte i cant say what to do next as i will probably get another warning so " JUST TAKE IT ON THE CHIN BUDDY "

I know how you feel mate. I went for a 2hour drive to get a new bumper and bonett for my car as it had a hit & run couple years back. In the ad it said a few light scratches underneath bumper, that's it!

I couldn't wait to get my hand on a bargain. Turned out to be total crap. Bumper was in a state as was the bonett.

Had some choice words and left.

Ash do you have printed confirmation?

If you do, how much did you lose, is it worth turning up to see the person face to face

Takes the p*ss when stuff happen like that. Dont know what some people are thinking. 2hour drive aswell for nothing! Sorry to hear that mate. I'm still waiting for paypal to get back to me hopefully i should have a reply today or tomorrow. Did the guy have any thing to say about the state the items where in?

That mr Schwarsenegger? Lol Looks like he aint having a good day!....I'll have no other choice if paypal dont sort this out. Have to be after my clutch is changed. But i dont know if its wise really. As i cant really see me standing there long talking about it. And by his emails seems like a ***** tw*t. I'd probably just end up decking him and then ask politely for my money.

was his feedback top notch or not , whats he called by the way ....?

Ash,take it on the chin mate! It's not worth the bother over £70... I mean smacking the fella as that's what you will probably end up doing if you pay him a visit. If the thought of it really sickens you I am sure you can think of a better way than decking him (I am assuming he has your address too )

Let some time slide by like all is well then put your plan into action:eyebrows:
Until then seek compensation through the relevant channels... This is always a PITA but usually better than getting knicked ;) In these situations patience is your friend young grasshopper!

His english wasn't so good so didn't have much to say apart from how I can still fix it to make it look good. I told him the whole point is so I don't need to get into any of that. Just wanted a fresh bumper to replace my battered one.

Gutting mostly. Was quite excited, going to be a fresh start for the A3 but didn't happen.

I hope yours is settled soon mate. Don't matter how much it is, money is money and nobody has a right to take it off you like that.
