    Aftermarket Clutchs

My clutch has started slipping, So I'm guessing I may need a new clutch sometime soon.

Can anyone recommend any decent aftermarket clutchs for a 2.0 TDi?

    Thanks.

Most guys go for a Sachs clutch, cost you about 800 fitted.

Yeah, Sachs do a clutch for 550euro then what ever you get to fit it!

Apparently a good job - I will need one eventually!

You do not necessarily need a flywheel (afaik)

I've read quite a bit about the SACHS clutch, everyone seems to rate them highly. Are there any other options? I need a service and cambelt change in next few months so any more cheaper alternatives to the SACHS clutchs, but with similar performance?

Also read about the flywheel, I see most people recommend to change the flywheel at the same time. If I don't change the flywheel, will there be any consequences??? e.g. flywheel falls off and makes the gearbox explode whilst knocking me out and crashing into a tree?

Sachs and Helix are the two main uprated clutch manufactures sold in the UK. Both are very good products with good backup but Sachs does seem to be squeezing Helix out of the market lately and developing better stronger clutches. If you want alternatives look at South Bend or Spec but with the crap exchange rate now they can work out quite dear unlike a last year.

In my case, when I get round to changing the clutch, my flywheel will be changed also as its juddering - if yours isnt, then there is no need to change!

Ok so after reading around and all, I'm guessing I don't need to replace my flywheel unless there's a problem with it. So a SACHS clutch will be fine with the standard flywheel?

any of your preferred local tuners should be able to help, as your down south either AMD, APS or Regal see who offers the best price fitted.
